This year’s tournament was a HUGE success! With a surge in coyote hunting tournements in other states, we didn’t know what the turn out for this years Carolina Coyote Classic would be. We were pleasantly surprised when we registered 134 Hunters! That’s 23 more hunters then last year. They really put a good dent in the coyote population as well! This year 51 coyote harvests were reported and 43 coyotes were officially weighed in, that’s 10 more coyotes that were weighed in then 2016’s tournament. Of the 43 coyotes that were weighed in, 16 were females and 27 were males. That’s 51 calf killers, fawn murderers and pet snatchers no longer in the wild. This year we increased participation and coyote harvests, what a tournament!
Another year and another set of winners. The beauty of our tournament is that anyone can win the Carolina Coyote Classic! The Pro’s and the weekend warriors are on the same playing field. There were teams that brought in 2 or 3 coyotes, a couple that brought in 5 coyotes and even one team brought in 15 coyotes! How many did the winner bring in to weigh in’s? One coyote! That’s right, Team Bullseye brought in one 41.50lb Male that won the Heaviest Coyote and the Grand Prize.
We had a blast this year and have absorbed all the information from years past. We seriously listened to opinions and suggestions to make next year’s tournament even better! There were several new hunters that registered this year and a few that didn’t register who participated in 2016’s tournament. We have changed a few things to increase participation for the 5th Annual Carolina Coyote Classic and we believe it will make the tournament much more fun! You can see the changes and the NEW class added for next year HERE.
