Travis reached out to me earlier in the year to ask about doing a Guided Wild Hog Hunt with his father Craig, for his Birthday. He wanted to do it in August which was going to be a little challenging with the heat but I knew we could get it done! We set dates for him to hunt on the day before his birthday and the next day which was on his actual birthday. The first night was hot and not a tremendous amount of action. Some hogs squealing in the distance and some subtle grunts as they passed by the stands. Nothing like a little added pressure to get it done for them on the second night. The next afternoon I did my routine of checking trail cameras on a few stands that had a lot of activity that week and to my surprise I had some daylight activity on it. They were pretty consistent about coming in an hour or so before dark and camping out for most of the night. I gathered Travis and Craig, off we rushed to the stands. I got them in the stands pretty early and it wasn’t long before a shot rang out! Music to my ears! He had a couple hogs pop in to the bait side and little did they know that Craig wasn’t messing around with them. He dropped one in his tracks at the bait site. What a birthday gift! The fun part is we caught the whole thing on the trail camera at that bait site. It tells the whole story from the time the Wild Hogs came in to the time the meat wagon arrived. Check it out…
