Last night the Outdoor Heritage Act, House Bill 640, was voted on in the North Carolina House of Representatives. The bill passed with a vote of 83 voting yes and 35 voting no. There were only a few amendments that were brought up and they failed. The only amendment that was added to the bill was the distance to hunt with a firearm from Places of Worship and Place of Residences to 500 yards. The original distances noted in the bill was 500 yards from a Place of Worship and 300 yards from a Place of Residence. Representative Dixon did a great job sponsoring the bill and handling the debate.
Please take a moment to send Representative Dixon an email to thank him on a job well done!
