My name is Haley Price and I am 21 years old. I am an avid hunter. I’ve been hunting since I was 10. My dad introduced me to hunting and I am very thankful for that. My first deer was a buck that had one horn broken off. It was so awesome because I was sitting right beside my dad when I shot him. I actually got that buck mounted just for the simple fact that it was my first deer. I gun hunted haley buckfor a long time. My dad wasn’t really into bow hunting that much but I sparked an interest when I decided that shooting deer with a rifle was way too easy. So I got my first bow about 6 years ago. My first bow was a pse nova. I never shot anything with it but I traded it about a year after I got it and picked out a hoyt trykon sport. The first deer I ever shot with that bow was a button head in South Carolina and I shot a hog the same day!! Well I kept bowing from there on out because I became addicted to the challenge. I love bow hunting. The 2nd year I had that hoyt I shot an 11 point buck in full velvet on opening day of the 2011 bow season. I ended up taking him to the Dixie deer classic and won best by female bow and I received the new female sate record for a typical full velvet buck. That was the best day of my hunting career. That got me so much publicity and helped get my foot in the door to start being on a hunting show called 704 OUTDOORS and it got me my job at bass pro shops. This year 2013 I got a new bow, a Mathews jewel. I love this bow. I have shot one deer with it this year (2013) and I am so glad that I got it.  To this day I have killed 39 deer and I plan on shooting a lot more in my life time I will be hunting for life. My dream is to after I graduate from NC State University to have my own commercial beef and crop farm and to be on a hunting show full time. I just really love to do anything outdoors from hiking and kayaking to riding four wheelers and horses. I have been riding horses since I was 3 years old. I started out riding English to learn balance and the ground rules of riding then I showed western pleasure and halter. All the showing got so boring to me I wanted something a little faster paced. I got into roping then and it was the best decision I made.  I do a lot of fishing also. My family and I go kayaking in the new river every summer and have a competition on who can catch the most fish. I normally win haha. I love pond fishing over lake fishing the biggest largemouth I have ever caught weighted 8 ½ lbs. I really want to go to the coast and go bow fishing and I plan on doing it soon because I know a guy who wants to take me so I can’t wait. I can do just about anything I set my heart to do with Gods help. I worked on an organic dairy and crop farm for 3 years and that’s what made me want to go to NC State to study agriculture business management. I hope to be very successful with my farm and hunting career.
